Lisa's Story

Life Lisa Morrow, born Elizabeth Ann Brutsche (pronounced Broo-shay), in Norman, Oklahoma. Dad was drafted in 1971 during Vietnam, but made a career out of the military so I moved around alot. From Oklahoma we moved to Ft. Benning, GA (1971-1972), Ft. Lee, Virginia(6 months 1972), Frankfurt, Germany (1972-1975), back to Ft. Lee(another 6 months 1975-1976), Ft. Hood, TX (1976-1979), Ada, Oklahoma (1979-1983) , Colorado Springs, CO (Ft. Carson 1983-1987) , Burke, VA (1987-1990), Frankfurt Germany (1990-1991). Since I was 21 and not in college at this point the military stripped me of my benefits so I moved on my own back to Virginia on May 31, 1991 to find a place to live and get a job. I moved to Virginia mainly because it was the last place I had lived and I had a lot of friends there. I lived on my own from 1991-1995. Dad retired from the military in 1993 and most of my family moved to Edmond, OK outside of Oklahoma City. Since most of my friends were married by this point I gave Oklahoma a try from 1995-1997. Oklahoma was not that exciting to me so I moved back to V...Expand for more
irginia in 1997 and have lived here ever since. I got married to Rick Morrow on June 17, 2002. Since then my life consists of work, home and religious activities. Even though I've lived in Virginia for the majority of my life at this point, my favorite place I ever lived was Colorado Springs. Maybe that's because that's where my formative years were spent. I haven't visited there since 1990 but I often think of it. Last year (2012) on my way to see my family in Oklahoma I switched planes in Denver. Flying into Denver I could see Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs in front of it. Maybe one day I'll get back to it. I can imagine it has changed in the 23 years since I've visited. Since I moved my senior year to Virginia, I did't get to graduate at Coronado. Most people, if they remember me, knew me as a tall, quiet girl who could play basketball and loved to write stories. I loved school because of the people more than the studying. I loved to observe the things going on around me and often wrote about them so I am able to remember a lot about my school days.
