Cheryl's Story

Life That quiet, shy girl you knew in HS is all grown up. Quiet? Shy? Think again..Oh how I've changed. After working behind a desk for the last 8 years I decided it time for a change. Desk work can only be so exciting. After making alot of changes in my life, I decided it was time for a new career, as well as relocation for a fresh start in life. I have been working for the Purina company for awhile now, I gaurantee you what I do is far, far from office work! I work as an Off-Bearer & Forklift Operator out in the valley. The company is incredible to work with and the experience is outstanding. Definitely ALOT of hard physical labor is involved but all that hard labor is putting me back into shape (something I so needed). When the weekend comes, believe me I am more than ready for it. to live it not the way others want me to lve it. I live in the central valley area with my girlfriend our 2 dogs and 3 cats. My life today may not be acceptable to alot of people but it's who I am. If you wanna know more aboout the real me, by all means - read on... Workplace I am not one to switch jobs, I like a stability. The floral industry is where I stayed for nearly 14 years. I still dabble in floral from time to time but it's no longer my career. I worked in Real Estate for about 5 years as well as Sheet Metal Fabrication for about 4 years. Today, after years of desk/office work I decided to go back to to physical labor. It better fits my personality than any office position I have found. Working at Purina has definitely put me back in shape. Some days I work inside the mine other days I am out in the weather (summertime 100-115 degrees & winter 30-75 degrees) so the weather can be pretty drastic but I enjoy the work.
