Currently I work part time as a member of the faculty of DePaul University teaching Computer Science and Software engineering.
I retired from Lucent Technologies in 2000 as a Member of the Technical Staff of Bell Laboratories. For the last few years I was involved in Software Development, particularly Software Development Environments (Tools and Architecture) as well as specialized software for projects.
I have also worked in the Tier IV UNIX Software Support Group for the AT&T Computer Systems business unit. I had responsibilities for support of the ATT language offerings and monitoring the development of the System V Release 4.0 product as well as providing customer and post sales support of the UNIX product line including add-on products and languages.

roducing the UNIX Operating System to the Department of Defense in 1975. I have been involved in UNIX Software technology since, especially in the areas of Technology Transfer and Exploitation.
As a student I worked on co-operative engineering assignments at Livermore National Laboratories(LNL) and Berkeley National Laboraties(aka BRL) (both are managed by the University of California) and at Rocketdyne's Santa Susanna Test Facility.
I have interests in UNIX Security, Knowledge Engineering, Object Oriented Technology and Education, Personal Productivity Tools, Information Retrieval Systems and Wide Area Information Systems, the World-Wide Web, and computer technology for the future.
I received a BSEE degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1966, and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1971.
