Muriel's Story
Who Am I?
Artist, Wife, Mom, and Grandmother. Also, work full-time at a local University; a volunteer Student Group Advisor (NAACP Adelphi University (AU) College Chapter and LGBTSSA) which I find quite rewarding. I enjoy being involved, love most music, love to read, watch movies, enjoy and support the performing arts, enjoy the company of interesting people, write poetry, create dolls, greeting cards, and absolutely adore my grandson and two family dogs.
After being a stay-at-home Mom for many years, my formal education began when I started working at a local University.. took classes part-time for eight years received an Associate Degree in Humanities, Bachelors/Fine Arts and Masters Degree in Studio Art (Paint...Expand for more
ing & Sculpture). Presently attend the Art Students League of NY in Manhattan with a concentration in life sculpture. Sculpting, is my first love, especially working with clay. Other media include plaster, and occasionally stone. My primary subjects are the human form and trees. Also a painter, my primary medium is acrylic paints on canvas, paper or whatever material works. I fully enjoy all media (ceramics, pottery, primitive firing) and consider my creative expressions to be colorful and diverse. I consider myself to be a Contemporary American Artist.
Because I am unable to visit NC or attend class reunions due to health reasons, I would like to use this venue to touch base with old classmates and friends..
