Karen's Story
Life
It is amazing how life turns out. Things just seem to happen exactly as they are suppose to. After going to 90% of the colleges in Michigan, I finally graduated as a teacher-a degree that is almost unusable in this part of Michigan! I do admit that I goofed off for quite a while. When I play, I play hard.
As time progresses, I know that the plans that are laid out are not mine. I thought I had it all figured out and that I was created to travel, teach and live out of a backpack. Yet, my plans have never come through. Instead I have been abundantly blessed with an awesome husband, Gerry and two precocious, active, curious girls who have worn me out already. About the past-I remember being a band geek, the blue streak, stealing mom's car for joy-rides, Mr. Jensen-YIKES!, Kreft Center dances, bearing my butt for all to see in "Bye Bye Birdie", crying behind Titus dorm-by the river, snow-shoeing to school, drinking on the roof in sub-zero weather, the hemlock society, sledding on the cafeteria trays, sucky cafeteria work, drama, really bad sweat clothes and that horrible plaid shirt I always wore. Man-what a trip down memory lane. I think I need to stop this before I totally embarrass myself-unless I already have.
What a gift it is to be where I am, who I am-surround by love a goodness. What could be better than this!
