Myles Bornstad:

CLASS OF 1975
Manalapan, NJ

Myles's Story

(1) College: Graduated from The Citadel in 1981 --- yes it took me a while to figure out what I really wanted to do...great experience going to a military college. Going to a very southern military school in Charleston (SC) was quite interesting as during my first year at The Citadel (where hazing was a sport at the time), I got to know the lyrics of Battle Hymn of the Republic and Dixie quite well. However, going to The Citadel is what I really needed at the time. (2) Lived & worked in South America & Egypt, traveled & worked in Europe & China but no better place than the great USA! (3) Live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where football is king and a religion, the weather is hot in the summer, great steaks - TexMex - barbeque, and where my kids would consider themselves 'Texan'. (4) Divorced, 3 kids - they have taught me so much about unconditional love - I am very blessed! All 3 kids are good athletes & students but better people; very proud of them. They are far better athletes than I ever was; however, I don't tell them that. (5) Coach: JrHS football ...Expand for more
& basketball, help youth with sports speed & agility. I love to coach and see young kids grow as athletes and hopefully good people. (6) Work: Supply Chain/Logistics/Distribution; spent 12 years being a 'road warrior' doing primarily consulting but no longer traveling at this time. Have met some outstanding professionals during my travels. Currently working for Callaway Golf. (7) Left military as a Major (US Army Reserves)- best experience in the military was as a Company Commander of a Combat Engineer Company - had a good officer staff, excellent NCO's, and outstanding soldiers! Visiting many Army bases gave me an opportunity to see much of the country but the best post was Fort Belvoir (VA) outside of Washington D.C. although a lot of history at Fort Riley (KS), Fort Sill (OK), and Fort Bragg (NC). (8) Have some very fond memories of my time at MHS --- good people and classmates, great teammates. (9) I consider myself to be a very blessed person to have had great experiences and to meet and know some wonderful people!!! (10) mbornstad81 at yahoo dot com
