Myra's Story
Life
I have two great kids, both boys, 22 and 25. My life has been great for the most part. I was married for 7 years and have been divorced for 22 years. I have a BA in Communication and Public Relations, MS in Secondary Ed, and BS in Nursing. The majority of the adult years I was either teaching or working as a nurse in an OKC ER. I loved it but recently (about a year ago) took a job managing the Oklahoma branch of a national Pharmacy/Infusion company. New ways to stretch the mind. I do enjoy it.
School
Spent most of my time in the Debate room and learned more on speech trips than I ever learned in class. The one that got away was Bill Davis. Met him on a speech trip and he was my first kiss. Interestingly enough, he was my first kiss after my divorce. Both were very memorable. Are you still out there Bill?????
I have kept in touch with several friends and travel with some of them almost every year. For our 50th about 13 of us got together and met in Colorado. We partied like rock stars ...Expand for more
and danced like hippies (very old ones). We had a great time.
College
At the Univ. of Arkansas I pledged Alpha Delta Pi. I DID NOT fit the greek image but loved the house and parties. I was a lesson to them I think. Met and fell in love the first day of class with the man I would marry. He went to med school and I went to work insted of Law School (which is why I ended up in Ar. in the first place). I had the boys while he was in residency and he moved on for greener pastures. Boy did he miss out. I have Great Kids. After the divorce law school was the last thing I wanted. Taught high school in Kansas after getting the Masters. Took kids to the nationals each year. Loved it but it didn't allow enough time at home for a single mom. Moved back to OKC and went back to school again. I love nursing and it has been very good to me.
If I had the chance and money and time I would go back to school one more time and get a degree in astronomy. ( I guess I will never tire of looking at the stars.
