Myrna's Story
Life
After high school I attendend ELAC and Rio Hondo Community Colleges, got married in 1977 to my sweetheart who I met when I was 15! We had two wonderful sons. I worked (and still do!) at El Rancho U.S.D. in Pico Rivera, CA and we lived in Whittier, CA. My husband worked for So. Calif. Edison. My life revolved around my sons and my husband, you know volunteering for church carnivals, driving sons to soccer, basketball, football games etc. We were busy and enjoyed regular day to day life. Vacations consisted of camping, going south to Ensenada, and then visits to Puerto Vallarta and Cancun, life was great. Our sons grew up and got their bachelors degrees, (Ryan is 28 and Sam is 24). numb and in a fog for a while but family and friends have been wonderul and very supportive. I, along with my sons, became very involved in the Relay for Life, which raises funds for the American Cancer Society. I went skydiving last year and hope to do it again soon because it was fun! I went on a cruise with friends and had a blast! I met someone who is very special in my life and we are getting to know each other. My oldest son, Ryan got married last year and had a baby girl on Feb. 18, 2006! Yes, I am a grandma and it is great! My granddaughter's name is Sophia Michelle, she has my nose and her father's lungs!
Wow, I can't believe I have been out of high school 30 years! Life has been full of surprises. I have reconnected with some of my high school friends and hope to attend the upcoming reunion.
