Nadine's Story
2-06-11: Just finished a certificate program called 21st Century Leadership. 8 months of giving up 1 weekend a month for school. Additionally, I have started a quilt and hope to finish it this year. Just finished cutting the main pieces. I call it Southwest Brilliance. It has lots of Southwest print in a brown & tan batik pattern background. Looking forward to finishing it. Work at Northrop Grumman is going well. The AISES Professional Chapter is working with the CSULB Students on their 2011 Regional Conference on March 4 & 5 2011.
3-23-10: Update - I have changed aerospace companies (Dec 2009). Also in Dec. Nikki and I worked on New Mexico Rosebowl Float (Glued white rice & onion seeds to the Land of Enchantment sign for 4 hrs). Float won a rose parade prize. Last week I was elected Vice President of AISES (American Indian Science and Engineering Society) Southern California Professional Chapter. Our charter is to mentor High School and College Native Americans in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields).

went to Phoenix to attend college, where I married a gentleman from Gallup High, Gary Sharp. I took the long road with college and 12 years later (May 1988) I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology while working fulltime. I went to school at night, sometimes only taking 1 class so I could pass (Math...yuck!). Then in 1988, I celebrated by getting pregnant with my only daugher Nicholette who is now 20 years old, Sophmore at Cal State Univ. Northridge, Mechanical Eng. Major. Gary and I are still married and are coming up on our 31 year anniversery. We are dedicated christians attending this awesome church here in California called Journey of Faith, where I lead a women's bible study. I am currently president of a Native American employee resourse group called RAIN. My life has been 1 wild ride and I am looking forward to retirement at 55 or so. I've taught classes in Natural Childbirth, I've been a motorcycle club queen and I have ridden my dirt bike on one wheel. I belong to Curves and I believe we need to live life to its fullest. My plan for retirement is to travel, make quilts and continue to lead others to the Lord Jesus Christ.
