Nanci's Story
If you see my name in several places on Classmates, it's because I attended 3 different high schools during those 4 years! My freshman year was at Johnston City High School in JC, Illinois. I had attended school with that class from 5th grade through freshman year. JC is a very small town in southern Illinois and our freshman class had maybe 100 students?!!!
My sophomore and junior years were spent in Arlington, TX. This was a much larger school and I did feel kind of "lost." However, I made friends with April Moore and Judi Hyte (sp). We had some great times ... especially when we were supposed to have been "studying at the library." haha!
My senior year I attended Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, IL. And this school was even much larger than Arlington High! It was like being engulfed in a sea of students!! I became a loner. The best part of my day was working in the office of the football coaches with whom I could at least have a decent conversation. I so much wanted to graduate with my friends in JC, but it just didn't work out.

s one of the largest Buick dealerships in the country. I met lots of people during my few years there... and even was married for a year. Soon after my divorce, the dealer purchased another Buick dealership in Costa Mesa, CA located in southern California. About a year later I moved here and worked for him as sales secretary.
I married a technician from that dealership and about a year later, after much planning, we quit work and took off in our motorhome to tour the U.S. We spent almost 2 years (from 1976-1978) visiting almost 40 states. What a wonderful experience!!! Met lots of great folks along our journey and have "millions" of slides of memories! (Slides were the thing back then). A few months after arriving back "home", our son was born. Now, more recently, he and his wife have given us a precious grandson.
Single once again, I continue to enjoy the weather here and try to take short trips as often as possible to explore places near and far. I currently work for a non-profit animal shelter that takes in owner-relinquished cats and kittens to adopt to loving, responsible homes.
