Nancy's Story

Life Hi all. I'm back from falling off the face of the earth! I'm married with 3 children, Dan (26 & getting married May 2008), Liz (19 1/2) & Tony (18). I haven't moved far - lived in Reading for a while after graduation, moved to Everett for 9 years then bought a house in Woburn in 1995. Workplace I started working with special ed kids in my sr. year in high school. Burned out quickly and shifted to my father's sign making business. My parents retired and my husband and I took over the business. 80's were terrible for mom & pop businesses and we sold off what we could. Started working in an office and continued for another 20 years, taking time off as each kid came along. In November 2006, I became an...Expand for more
entrepreneur and opened my own store in Wilmington, MA. I sell jewelry making supplies and conduct classes on jewelry making. Hopefully I will remain at this occupation until I can finally retire in another 16 years. We've only been open for 5 months, but it looks promising. I'm not looking to make a killing, just to get by comfortably while doing something I love. (How many of you can say that?) Update: 2/21/08 You'll probably all hit the big "50" this year. I just did at the end of January. You know, it doesn't feel any different that all those other birthdays. Don't freak out just because another day has passed and you've added another number to the years you've been alive. Happy 50th to everyone!
