Nancy's Story
Life
My Spouse
I met my first husband, Michael in college. We were married in 1967 and divorced in 1992. That same year I met my present husband, Larry, who I met at a meeting of Northern New Jersey Mensa. Sadly Larry passed away in December of 2019 (pre=Covid).
My Pets
We have an overly intelligent. Border Collie named Orvis and
a sweet yellow lab named Brooks Brothers. Larry likes to name our dogs after places he likes to shop .,Orvis and Brooks have passed on and now I have a wonderful Black Lab named Watson. He is named after the IBM computer. He is very big (outweighs me).
My Kids
My son Matthew lives in Connecticut with his wife. They have been married for eleven years (no children). He is working with a plastics firm doing computer aided design. I am extremely...Expand for more
proud of him because he has had to overcome a significant hearing impairment and is very successful
My Job
I have had a number of interesting career experiences. II graduated from nursing school in 1963 and received a Bachelors in Nursing shortly after. I worked as an Operating Room nurse in Ghent, Belgium for four years until the birth of my son. I received teaching certification and worked as a Health teacher and also received an MSW. I worked as a Social Worker on a Child Study Team (High School) and I dealt with handicapped students and their parents. It was exhausting at times, but VERY rewarding. I retired seven years ago and have started a totally new phase of my live as a part-owner of a yarn shop in my home town. I love teaching knitting classes and travelling.
