Nancy's Story

Life Two days after graduation I married my high school sweet heart and embarked on a marriage that continues to endure. Over the last 27 years I have followed my Navy husband to 8 states, moving 23 times, with four of those being coast to coast moves. For a girl who had never lived outside of Virginia Beach, I enjoyed the adventure of meeting new people and seeing new places. I left college in 1981 not to return until 1997. I graduated in 1999 with a BA in Human Studies/Certification to teach 1st-8th grades. My dream had always been to teach school. Now I get to live my dream each day...Expand for more
as I teach children to reach for the stars. College It took me a while to decide that school was worth finishing. I began school in 1978 at Pensacola Junior College, then transfered to the University of West Florida where I majored in Special Education/Elementary Education. When my husband transfered I left school, but it took 20 years to return. In 1997 I returned to college where I attended St. Mary's College of Maryland, one of only two public honors colleges in the nation. I graduated in May 1999 with a degree in Human Studies, with certification to teach grades 1st through 8th.
