Nancy's Story
An old boyfriend of mine had a mantra he would persistently chant, and that was "Everything in Moderation". I have since then, tried to live by that in every way possible.
To have grown up in Marin County was quite a luxury, as I now know, and realize more as the years whiz past. I don't think I'm alone when I say I was sheltered. That too, is a luxury. Now, with us as parents, and grandparents, we are dealing with the real "Twilight Zone", and somehow, our children have adapted to the harsh realities that would have been impossible for us to shield them from. Even my Dad tried to stop us from watching the "freaky" new shows on T.V. like "Twilight Zone". He would shake his head and say "Crazy mixed up stuff!"

s we all need the "Happy Medium", "Everything in Balance". "Yin and Yang"...I've noticed when people get out of balance with anything, there is trouble. Like with weight, or, religion, or money, or sex. "Everything in moderation."
At our age, it is like we have just enough time to clean up our act. One last chance to make things right, or better, or happy. The pains are creeping in, the lines in the skin, and the scale is so stubborn, lingering on one number so long! But we still can get it right. We can do it!
I enjoy my children. Just listening to them makes me happy. When they make me laugh, there is nothing as sweet to me. I thank God for them.
So I intend on doing my best from here on out, and becoming a nurse. I plan on using my heart, my patience, and the most wisdom God will allow, to serve people in the best way I possibly can. I want to give back now, since I realize I have been blessed in many ways. Some day I would love to return to my roots up by the bay, because I truly left my heart in San Francisco.
