Nancy's Story
Since graduating I worked in the florist business for over 15 years. Then worked for the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute where I retired from 12 years ago.
We have lived in Bel Air, Salisbury, Pylesville, Laurel, MD and Elizabeth City, NC.
We have one daughter, Debbie, and son-in-law, Chris Koermer and 4 wonderful grandchildren ranging in age from 28 today 18.. They have been very active in sports at North Harford High School.
Steve and I are very active in the Bel Air Fire Company and the Maryland State Firemens Association where Steve served as President in 1996 and is currently their Legislative Chair, Budget Chair and serves on several other committee. I am currently Assistant Secretary for the MSFA, past secretary of HARFORD Cecil Volunteer Firemens Association, Past Secretary and Treaurer of Norrisville VFC, Secretary of Bel Air Fire Company Auxiliary and the list goes on.
We have a 3 year old Shepherd, Baylyn, who is our baby and spoiled rotten!

Overall life has been good and I am thankful for all we have.

Our 2 granddaughters have married.
We now have 2 great grandsons and a 3rd due end of March..
Steve, after retiring from Navy Region Mid Atlantic Fire Chief and moving back to Bel Air in 2015 went back to work at the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue as the Chief of Operations.. We are both still active with Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, the Maryland State Firemen’s Association, and is the Coordinator of the Harford High School Fire and EMS program..
We purchased a RV camp most weekends March thru October outside Lancaster .
I am enjoying retirement spending time with the family!
Like everyone else 2020 has proved to be very difficult. But we got thru it and hopefully 2021 will improve..
Up—Date 10/6/22
We are now Great grandparents to 4 boys! Jason is the oldest at 4, then Cooper and Jackson both approaching 2 and Easton who is 9 months! Needless to say when we are all together on our daughter and son-in-law’s farm in Whiteford it here is NEVER a dull moment!!!!!
