Nancy's Story
Well lets see, I went to school at Draughons Jr college. Then got married in 1983 to a great man. We are still married and love each other very much. We had one daughter named Julia, the light of our world. She was married last year and is still the light of our world. She was married in the chruch we were married in. We had the reception in our back field, it was the best time I have ever had at a wedding reception. It was a lot of work but worth ever minute of it. She is worth everything I have.
In 86 I went to school at Tri-city Beauty College, to be a Hair dresser, which I have done on some level ever since. I'm still best friends with the same person I was best friends with in shcool.
I was made anew in 1985 when the Lord saved me by his grace. I never did anything in life that has made me more happy than choosing to accept the gift of Salvation. I learned to play the guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and piano. I love music. My daughter took me to see Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp in August of 09. It was the best time I have had in quite some time. It was good going to a concert that I could remember the next day. (IF you know what I mean)It had been a VERY long time since I had been to a concert.
When we were first married we raised Appalossa horses, it was very fulfilling raising a foal to adulthood. Now I have Affenpinschers( dogs) They are a rare breed, that originated in Germany. I have been showing them for around 3 years. I have one Champion, Tess. She and I had a lot of fun winning and beating professional handlers. I added one more to my collection now 5. His name is Ozzy and has his title, and has even been on t...Expand for more
he cover of a magazine called Top Notch Toys, his formal name is Ch Black Forest Wizard of Oz, I love that name. We hope to some day see one of our own bred affens win at a major show like Eucanuba or Westminster. When I dream I dream big, comes from having high hopes.
I have all Tess's ribbons. But the ones she got when she won her title, her Championship certificate from AKC. Her invitation to Eucanuba and her picture taken just after her big win for her title, I have in a shadow box. But the ribbon I'm proudest of is when she was in Springfield Mass for the Affenpinscher Specialty. Out of 91 registered affens she was in the top 7 dogs the judge chose her winner and best of oppisite from. She recieved a ribbon with her name on it and took part in the perade of Champions. It was a great thrill to take part in that. As of May 2011, I have two beautiful Affenpinschers now that I am showing, they are my breeding and I just think their wonderful. I just hope the judges think so as well.
Well thats a breif update on my life thus far. Not a very exciting life but I have done more that I ever thought I would. I've gone to more places that I ever thought I would. God has been very good to me and has blessed me abundantly. I have just become a grandmother to a very beautiful little girl named Willow. She is the most wonderful part of life so far.
I had the opertunity to see some of my school mates during the holiday, was so glad to see them and I hope to see more of the people I went to school with soon. It was just a thrill to see Rocky Allen playing bass at the fireworks in Unicoi, on the 4th of July,
and Dana Thompson at KFC the day before.
