Nancy's Story

Wife, Mother, Grandmother living in Morson, Ontario on Lake of the Woods. I own Sunset Country Pest Control (kill bugs for a living). I worked as the Secretary / Office Manager /Web Developer for Morson Tourism Association (lakeofthewoodstourism.ca) and Morson Bass International (morsonbass.com). Check out the websites - the sunset photos were taken from our deck. I do lots of fishing, both winter and summer. I am also an active volunteer for events in our community and the local Pioneer Museum. I haven't taken up golf yet but we do have a 9 hole course. Morson is a lot like Badger. If you drive up to Morson and ask anyone, they can tell you how to find our place. The map on this site is incorrect and shows me living in Sleeman about 40 miles away. We are basicly straight east of the North West Angle and north of Baudette. This side of Lake of the Woods has over 14,000 islands. It is totally different from the Warroad / Baudette side. I enjoy the peace and quiet as well as the view of the lake. Our area is also very big for hunting deer, bear and moose. I have one daughter. Her and her husband have two boys and they live outside of Roseau. 1982-till now highlights. After graduation worked at Polaris summers while attending Moorhead State University, ret...Expand for more
urned to Polaris (holding several jobs over 20 yrs including Supervisor, Trainer, Faciliator and Benefits Coordinator), married, had a child, divorced, remarried, sold the house in Badger (in anticipation that I would be leaving Polaris after 20 yrs), job cut at Polaris in 2005 and chose to retire, moved to Ontario to live full time with my husband (we had been married for 3 years and lived in seperate countries while I worked for Polaris), finished BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, started spraying cabins and houses for insects during summer months and worked as secretary for the Morson Tourism Association and Morson Bass International fishing tournament held each year in August. My bug business has grown so I had to step away from the tourism but keep busy with the Morson Women's Institute.. My husband and I own a place in Tucson, Arizona and plan to be snowbirds after retirement. We continue to ice fish with one of our favorite species of Lake Trout and travel by snowmobile for the quickest way to get to Whitefish Bay. My biggest fish however is Muskie. I haven't made the 50 inch club but have caught fish as big as 46 inches. My latest project is working on family geneology and I plan to publish a book with photos and stories.
