Life
I am married for 25 years now to Rick Mitchell, who grew up in New Milford, NJ, where we live with our two children, Meghan (21) and Patrick (19). Meghan is currently a senior at Rowan University and loving it! She misses her varsity sports of basketball and soccer, but did not want to sacrifice big time college athletics and the excitement it brings to a college and attend a small division III where should could have continued her basketball, so... This summer she had an internship with NBS/Universal and did all the promo and publicity for Mama Mia. Walked a star down the red carpet, attended the after premier party and met all...Colin Firth, Meryl, Pierce - much more - pretty cool. She is in one international honor ociety and 2 collegiate ones. Also, she has been invited to attended the 4 day Presidential Inauguration, Gala dance, VIP seating for parade, etc. She is a hard, hard worker. Patrick is now a freshman at Monmouth and playing Div. 1AA football. He was also recruited for track - which I had hoped he would opt for but...he received a scholarship to play there...plus 2 from H.S. which helps a ton ($). He won the track MVP for his graduating class (2008) and also the overall MVP athlete award for the class of 2008. They both make us so proud...as all of your kids do also, I'm sure. My husband is still a steamfitter manager in NYC with a partner - they install sprinkler systems in NYC corporations. He is now the President of the High School Touchdown Club for New Milford Football - always giving back to the community! I have left pharmaceuticals and I am currently a senior oncology research manager/statistician for the Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. 50 is...Expand for more
okay - I am in the best shape I have been in in about 15 years - migraines are all but gone - feeling spiritually grounded and grateful everday to God for all his Blessings. Finally, I still love a party, I just don't drink---did way too much of that when I was younger, so I quit 3 years before my first baby - 24 years ago! Anyone else a friend of Bill W's and needs to talk, contact me!!! Let's have another reunion!
I answered some of those questions; here are answers:
My best friend would tell you I'm too too cerebral, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as outgoing and friendly.
My first true crush/boyfriend (Tim Rooney) tried to convince me not to marry Rick (they knew each other); now Tim married Rick's best friend's sister, they (Hubby and crush) work together and we are all good friends, living in same town!
My four years as undergrad at Rutgers where the best, until I maried and had kids. I still have vivid dreams about being there!
If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to needy/charities, then spend the rest on beach house, mountain house and save the rest to leave to my family.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Jean Kast, because she never attended any reunions..
My hero has always been Jesus - and Gandhi, and William Wallace and Roy Hobbs (not real name) - I know - weird.
I always wanted to be a detective when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a ridiculous idea. As it turns out, they were - who know's - I'm not a detective!.
My first job was at A&P and Jet cleaners, where I got paid min. to min wage. What I remember most about it is partying on Saturdays with employees and management after we closed up!!.
