Nancy's Story
Nancy Ellis has a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida and a M.S.W. from the University of Utah. She was a lobbyist with the Utah State legislature for three years, is the past Chairperson for the National Association of Social Workers Central Florida Unit, the Florida Action for Healthy Kids Partnership, and current member of the Florida Seniors Program Board, the Florida Hospital East Foundation Board, the Orange County Children's Cabinet, and the Orange County Alliance for Children and Families. She has also chaired numerous clinical staffing committees and community action boards.
An experienced clinician and administrator, Dr. Ellis has provided intensive support to communities in the development of community-based mental health, substance abuse, health, and family support services. es. She has previously managed substance abuse, crisis counseling, family counseling, and case management programs. She is the past Administrative Coordinator of the Orange County Neighborhood Centers for Families and past Director, Youth Programs, for the Winter Park Health Foundation. She is currently the Director of the Center for Community Partnerships, University of Central Florida, College of Health and Public Affairs. She has presented at numerous local, state and national conferences on topics pertaining to child and family counseling, community engagement, government and nonprofit collaboration, children's health programs, and the Family Support Model.
Nancy is married to Dr. E. Taylor Ellis, Associate Dean, College of Business Administration, University of Central Florida. They have three daughters, one son-in-law and a cat. They are actively involved in many activities at the University of Central Florida and in the central Florida community.
