Nancy's Story

Life Hi there, As I read this now, life is very difficult but there are always bright spots.....take care, have fun, be healthy, hope you find what you want. I don't expect you to read all of this but if you sign my guestbook...then send me a message. Would love to hear from any...can you believe, nearly 40 years! Well, after high school I went to Solano Community College. I went on and off for nearly 10 years!! Slow starter I guess. I did finally get focused and got my AD in nursing in 1982. I got married in 1978 and we lived in Dixon and Suisun. We had our first child in 1982. She lived eight days, something I will never get over. But luckily we were able to have two more children. Tressa was born in 1983 and Zachary was born in 1988. They are both beautiful and healthy. Tressa is in her sophomore year of college and Zach is a very active 15 year old...who is giving me the same trouble I gave my parents! We moved to Missouri and Texas before ending up in Massachusetts. We divorced in 2000. I live in a 125 year old house that needs lots of work! I do most of the work myself, although I get the kids to help once in a while. I love the outdoors and am willing to do anything that happens there! I got my Master's Degree in 1999 and I work as a nurse practitioner in the Emergency Room 36 hours a week. I torture myself working 12 hour shifts but only 3 days a week. I have an hour drive each way so it is good not to go very often. LOL I am horrified that it has been 30 years since I left High School!! I would love to hear from you! Take care, Nancy Update...2010 I am retired, used up would work, as Rudy Stubbs put it. The kids are great, Tressa is in her master's program and Zach finished electrical school. Both are working and independent. I, on the other hand, moved in with my mom for a year. Ha! But am in the process of relocating to Mesa, AZ in the next month. Update...2012 LIving in Gilbert, AZ and Ensenada, MX part time. I have a wonderful significant person who has shown...Expand for more
me Mexico and we live on a boat. Who would have known. Wonder who reads this and why? 2014 Update for any who read this far...ha. My birthday is saturday...59 and now more than 40 years since high school! Life is good, kids are good, no grandkids, have a trailer on the beach in Mexico. Didn't make the reunion...just doesn't seem like something I need to do. But I have great memories of BR, KK, KM, to name a few but you weren't at the reunion anyway. Would love an update but hope the best for any who reads this. Life is what happens while you are making other plans!!! Dear God, 2020, paid again because I actually got a message from a good friend. Really cool. Living in Tampa, FL. Gardening as exercise and mental health treatment, quilting and actually won a 2nd place in the First Mazatlan Quilt Festival, reading, taking photos of beautiful things. My children are awesome, 30 and 36, working , not married, no grandchildren other than some furry ones, which is really fine with me! Mom is healthy. Spend several months vacationing in Mexico each year. The Yucatan last year, Chiapas and Guerrero. Remember Shawshack Redemtion the movie, well I am currently in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, pretty town. Hope all is well with you, feel free to leave a note, probably won't remember you but hey 1973 at Armijo we remember! Right, it long term memory, lol. Take care. I won a First place ribbon at the Second Mazatlan Art and Quilt Show and sold it to the owner of the Venados baseball team owner! Goal completed! 2023- 50 year reunion coming up and I have reservations to go. Life has been a struggle recently, but I seem to be coming out on the winning side. Mental health seems to be a very layered fantasma. Joy can seem very far away and difficult to grasp. But today I was swimming and it started to rain. The drops made the surface of the pool a panorama of bubbles, bouncing drops and tiny spires. Total joy just watching it. The joy can come up on you, may the joy find you especially if you have been to the dark places.
