Nancy's Story
After graduating, I attended CSM. Next, I became a Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) and lived/worked in West Virginia for a year. After returning, I went back to college and worked for San Mateo County Mental Health Services.
In 1967, I married William (Mike) Stanton (Class of '63). He was in the Army and subsequently we moved around the country while he attended flight training. He served two tours in Vietnam. Our daughter (Rebecca) was born in 1970.

The Pierce County Alliance. My best job ever was as a Criminal Investigator for the Pierce County Department of Assigned Counsel (public defender agency). While there, I worked on everything from DUIs to death penalty cases. A very, very interesting job.
Unfortunately, I was forced to leave the DAC due to illness. I am now a bi-lateral below-the-knee amputee. Right now I am confined to a wheelchair but I soon will get my second prothesis which will allow me to walk again.
I spend my days working online as a freelance writer and interacting with my friends and pets. I also have plenty of time to dote on my 27-month-old grandson, Benjamin.
