Natalie's Story

The first nine years of my education were in Catholic schools, Blessed Sacrament, grades 1-5; St. Patricks, grades 6-8; and Jesus and Mary for my freshman year. My brother, John Chapman, and I spent the summer between my freshman and sophomore years plotting how to get our parents to let us go to El Paso High in the fall. John (now known as JT) and I prepared ourselves for an epic battle. We were so deflated when our parents complied with our wishes without the slightest hesitation. Almost made us change our minds! We didn't though and that fall John entered the 8th grade at EPHS and I started my sophomore year. Our brother Tim joined us a couple of years later. We all graduated from EPHS. The rest of our siblings ended up at Coronado. I've been married for 34 years to the love of my life, Brad Cook. He is the Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Sabin Metal. We have two children, Jessica (Cook) Sledge, age 30, and Bradford Cook, 27 years old. Our daughter is married to Blake Sledge (we LOVE him!) and they have two gorgeous children. Their son, Jayden is turning 8 years old on May 21, 2018 and he...Expand for more
has a sister, Bailey, who is 4 years old. These 5 wonderful people are the center of our lives. I retired from my job 7 years ago. I worked at a church doing many things. The biggest part of my job was interviewing people in our community who were in need of financial assistance. I also worked with the homeless and lead mission trips to the Sager Brown UMCOR Depot in Baldwin, Louisiana. We packaged disaster relief supplies to be sent any place in the world as the need arose. Very rewarding work. I did many other things at the church including cooking for groups as large as 400. We lived in Houston (my husband's former company brought us to Texas) for the last 19 years before moving to Highlands Ranch, Colorado at the beginning of 2018. We followed our daughter and her family...just couldn't be that far away from the grandkids never mind our daughter and son-in-law. Fortunately, our son moved along with us. The company my husband now works for allows us to live anywhere we wish as long as my husband has access to wifi and an international airport nearby! We love Colorado! Life is good. We are so fortunate.
