Nathan's Story

Life 11/1971 - Left Eureka and moved to Napa (eh, it was the 70's) 12/1971 - Dropped out of Napa High and joined the Army as a telephone installer 3/73 - Selected for Warrant Officer Rotary Wing Aviator's Course. 6/73 - Started flight school 5/74 - Graduated and assigned to Ft. Hood, TX as a UH-1 pilot 6/74 - Transferred to the 507th MedEvac as a Dustoff pilot 5/77 - Qualified in the CH-47 Chinook helicopter and transferred to Albrook AFB, Panama 5/79 - Left active duty and started flying commercially. Eventually was hired as Chief Pilot for Golden Goose Airlines (Private) and transitioned into the Agusta 109 and the Gulfstream II. Then went to work in Saudi Arabia as an instructor pilot for Lockheed flying the KV-107IIA (the civilian version of the Navy CH-46) 8/82 - Quit flying and started school at the U of Texas in Austin, transferred to U of Maryland and graduated in 5/84, entered the UofM Grad School of Public Affairs. 7/86 - Joined the Foreign Service as a Special Agent. Have lived in Venezuela, Israel, Belize, Trinidad, and the Dominican Republic. Have visited over 80 countries. Last served as the Program Director for Visa and Passport Security for the Dept. of State. I retired from the Foreign Service in September of 2005. From 2005 - 2007, I was a Director for Business Development for the Northrop Grumman Corporation, working in the D.C. area. Had a "good run", hence the photo ...Expand for more

In August 2007, I moved to Hewlett-Packard as the Director for Secure Infrastructure Solutions, Federal Consulting and Integration delivering HP service solutions to the intel community and other agencies. In December 2008 I left Hewlett-Packard in order to found Espire Services, LLC. I am presently delivering high-end IT solutions to the U.S. Department of State and other USG agencies. In November of 2009, Espire received its Top Secret Facility Clearance. On August 23, 2010, Espire Services was accepted into the Small Business Administration's 8(a) Business Development Program. I am the sole owner of ESL and have strategic alliances with Northrop Grumman Information Services, Lockheed Martin Corporation and others. Espire presently provides the USG with comprehensive architectural, engineering and project management expertise in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq. Espire also provides the Department of State with worldwide Program Management support for the Department's Overseas Protective Operations program. Married, five kids.
