Life
Well, the nice thing about working for a huge company is the opportunity to travel. So after a year in New Orleans, I transfered back to the Northeast. I'm not sure that it was the best idea with winter looming, but I think I'll be able to tough it out. I have to say, life up here is pretty boring. Not much going on for activities except for the beach. I guess living down south spoiled me a little. The only real upside to being here is I get to help people in need through my work. It is a good feeling to make a real difference is somebody's life.

has me working as a government contractor with the Mines and Minerals Services (MMS). The MMS is the branch of the Gov't that enforces the laws and collects revenue from the oil companies that drill and produce oil and gas throughout the country and U.S. waters. We are like the IRS of the oil and gas business. I work both here in New Orleans and Lake Jackson, TX. A small little town forty-five minutes south of Houston. I fly these guys all over the Gulf (GoM) to inspect and enforce safety and environmental regulations. I guess the upside is we keep a lot of workers from getting hurt and make it worth the big business's time to not pollute.
