School
My favorite teacher was Edwin J. Terrill, the band instructor. He also taught driver's ed in summer. I also really liked Joe Trewyn, a speech teacher and our school's debate team coach. John Marshall, Jerry Muelver and I won most of our debating competitions because of Mr. Trewyn. We brought a debating championship to South Division. My happiest memories are of being in the band, marching band, orchestra, the "A Choir," and of playing drums in the Pep Band for three years. ll games for two years, and I had a high school sports show on WRIT Radio. I was on the Yearbook stafff, in the Photography Club, and was a staff writer on "The Cardinal," our school newspaper. High school was a FUN TIME for me!
College
I attended UWM for two years, did not study seriously (except in my speech and communications classes). The dean of men asked me to vacate my seat at the university after my second year, inviting me to return when I was "ready to be serious" about going to college. I never returned, moving directly into a career in radio broadcasting.
