Necole's Story
Life
Single, never married. Mother of 1, age 16. Living and working in Centreville/Fairfax, VA for past 13 years.
Accountant by trade. Writer by passion. Pretty dull life, too busy working. I'm in the midst of writing a book, my first. It's a book of poetry that tell the tale of my life. I'm hoping to have this book published within the next 2 years.
School
In recently joining as a paying member and now being privileged to communicating, it is important for me to rekindle old frienships from school.
Unfortunately, in school I was noted for being mean. Most wouldn't know, but I suffered depression for a number of years and was struggling hard for the 3 years I spent at Fairmont.
Periodically, I look back at my yearbook and memory books and felt it disheartening that everyone's comments/messages toward me were the same in how they spoke to my attitude and personality. But maybe in the long run the truth hurt enough to change that part of myself and dig deep within to find what all knew existed. The true spirit beneath the hard exterior.
In school, I wish I could have been more open and outgoing. However, today I am content with myself. I have found my faith and my spirit is restored. Coincidently, it's my goal to make others smile.
I can't say specifically that any teacher inspired me, but I found my passion in shop (Mr. Sharpless). I'd always loved working with my hands and shop gave me every opportunity/advantage to exude my talents.

o it all over again, I would have been more in tune with my education, the importance of it, and my inability to learn as effectively due to my learning disability (dyslexia). I would have taken advantage of courses offered, that at the time I felt were pointless.
Despite it all, I would have gone to college and found my way even though I had no interest/desire.
College
While I have yet to attend college aside from taking a couple of courses, I am an Accountant by trade through promotion.
It is my desire and intent to attend college and obtain a degree (most likely in business).
Workplace
While the average teenager had a job at McDonalds, my mom never allowed me to work because she felt as though once I started, I would never be able to stop.
Never words spoken more true!
Because I never attended college, I have been working non stop since the day I graduated high school!
I finally, convinced my mom to allow me the privilege of
co-op education. As a senior, I attended school half day and was an intern at the Department of Justice Lands Library the other 4 hours.
Most ask, how I could ever leave the government? Well, simply put, the job was offered as an assignment and was completed before deadline. My boss very much wanted me to stay and fought for the reality, but to no avail there was no other work available at the time.
I've had jobs that range from: retail, reception, secretarial, administrative and for more than 10 years accounting.
