Nelle's Story
I was the crazy girl who got married during our junior year summer vacation. When I returned to Marlboro H.S. Miss Trifari (the typing teacher) turned me in for moving to my own apartment and I was told I couldn't stay in Marlboro for graduaton. It was very difficult to go to another school during senior year but I made a wonderful friend there I am still friends with. I had a son in 1974 and lived in Millstone Twp. until 2002 when I moved back to Manalapan after my divorce.I am remarried ...Expand for more
and happy to be back in the town I grew up with. I have had many health issues since getting Hodgkins disease in 1977 and the radiation treatments to treat it. I had open heart surgery in 2004 to replace my aortic heart valve and another open heart surgery in 2011 to replace a second valve. I was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension which is incurable and had to stop working. I am on a drug which helps the symptoms but the disease will progress and causes heart failure. One day at a time.
