Workplace
After college, I moved to Washington DC...yes, the last plantation...residents in DC *still* have taxation without representation. Anyhow, I worked in commercial radio, waited tables between jobs, worked at the Smithsonian Institution Division of Performing Arts Folklife Festivals, met some TV/radio engineers that encouraged me to get my FCC first class license to work in the industry. I did get my license and was hired as a vacation relief TV tech at PBS Network......Expand for more
3 months later I was hired fulltime ...and 7 years later I became a Network Technical Supervisor. My groups broadcast shows 24/7 to all the PBS stations via satellite. I also was instrumental in designing and bringing online PBS' digital/HD technical upgrades.
I left fulltime work in 2002, work as an technical event coordinator and director part-time and am in the process of building my own business around my passion for digital photo restoration and digital asset management.
