Nicholas's Story
So, I graduate from high school and go to college. I started at Long Beach State and graduated from there in 1987 with a BA in psychology. From there I went to Humboldt State University in northern CA and earned a MA in research psychology. After I finished the masters I was pooped and needed some time away from school. I moved back to So. Cal and worked for a couple of years for the Orange County Mental Health clinic and College Hospital. Good experience, but I learned that I needed better credentials to do the work I really wanted to do so I went back to school. I attended the California School of Professional Psychology from 1992 to 1997 and earned another masters, this time counseling and a PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology. The idea was to become a prescribing psychologist so I bled for five years and earned the degrees and completed all of the requirements to become licensed in the state of CA. When it was all said and done I was done with school in a big way and needed to simply set back and rest. During all of my schooling I met Julie at Humbolt State...we married in 1995 ...Expand for more
and had a son, AJ, in 2002.
After I finished with school we decided to leave LA and look for a slower life. I needed it because I was exhausted so we moved to Bishop, CA as we had hiked and skied there many times. I obtained employment with Inyo County mental health and we moved. After two years I became the program chief for Mono County mental health. That was a great experience which taught me a great deal, but mostly that the system was designed to help to a limited degree and that alternative approaches to mental illness were not considered valid.
So I quit the county and went private. This is when the magic happened. I dove head first into energy psychology and began using neurotherapy and energetic healing modalities to help people who did not want to use medications to solve problems. Away I went into a system called the LENS and developed protocols that have had a HUGE impact on neurological brain rehabilitation.
Now, years later, I still live in Bishop and have been developing treatment modalities to heal the brain....life is a trip...check out my website, NeuroField.com if you want to know more...
