Nicholas's Story

Life I've been through quite a bit since graduation. During high school, I was working part time in retail management at the Yakima Mall. A little while after graduation, I was hired as Assistant Manager (full-time)at Champs Sports. After a couple years, Champ's corporate managers asked me to transfer out to the Seatac & Bellevue Square malls in Seattle. So, I took them up on the request, & moved out to Seattle. The entire time I was out there, I was looking for my own place. I was un succcessful. So, not wanting to over-stay my welcome, I looked into any other temporary options I might have. I thought of my aunt, Amy George (Lang) who has also been living in Seattle for a while. Fortunately enough, she gladly invited me to move in with her for the time being. I waited until very close to the end of the year 2000 to take my vacation and came back out here, Yakima to visit. Then, on the evening of January 2nd, 2001, I went out to the mall for a little shopping with my girlfriend at that time, Jamie Wangler. After shopping, we were headed back to my parents' house while I was driving in my 1990 Honda CRX. It was still pretty icy and slushy on the roads, like usual, due to the winter weather. Also, the intersection of Tieton Dr. and 96th Ave., was a big patch of loose gravel. The combination of the ice & loose gravel caused us to slip back out onto Tieton Dr. right in front of a fully loaded pick-up!!! So, the pick-up could not help but ...Expand for more
plow directly "T-Bone" into us, right into my driver's side! So, the only thing between the pick-up's front grill and I was my car door! The front grill broke through the window, hit my head, shattered my skull open, caused Jamie & I to hit heads, which detatched the retina of my right eye (causing complete blindness) And, THANK GOD!!!!!!, caused Jamie's one & only injury, a minor concussion! I was flown out to Harborview hospital in Seattle for all the major surgeries. I was also still in the coma out there. After so long, the doctors told my parents, "We're sorry, but the chance that Nicholas has to pull out of this coma and live is just not even possible any more. And, even if he does, he will only be a vegitable or brain-dead. You just need to give us official permission to do what we need, and pull the plug." Fortunately enough, holding on to their faith, their response was, "No way!". And, sure enough, Like HE ALWAYS does, THE ONE & ONLY, LORD OUR GOD proved them wrong and saved my life! I know I'm still here alive and well because HE does have a will/plan for my life. And, I can honestly say I ONLY WANT TO LIVE THAT OUT/BE USEFUL TO, & BLESS HIM!!!!! Email me to hear/see more about it. Or, visit the AOL hometown site for, nickshealth School My favorite activities were, Track & Field, Cross Country, & Leadership Class. These are beside the obvious favorite, giving my/our/the teachers a REAL HARD TIME! *I mean that with love* LOL
