Nicholas's Story
It's been a long time since Bayonne High.....Then it was Viet Nam with the 7th Cavalry..."WE WERE SOLDIERS ONCE......And Young".......came home a disabled vet, then back to civilian life. Married several times.....living in South Florida and loving it. I did the motorcycle club thing ( MC ) and patched twice..... just to much politics for me. So I sold the Harley and bought a boat. Now I spend alot of time out in the Gulf Stream fishing for Mahi-Mahi..... and when I'm not fishing I am working on my book "We Were Soldiers Once.....and STUPID" It's based on my lif...Expand for more
e and my disgust....and fear of my Government IE: the VA is a national disgrace. Under staffed..... under funded.... and a complete mess from administrator to Housekeeping. I remember Mike Burkawitz..Jimmy Hurley...Roger Geery... Deeky.... Cathy Collins.......Mark Stein....Victor Cicconetti.....Percy and meny more. It was the days of stealing MoM's car and cruising Broadway to DaD's diner on 8th street for a burger,fries and a coke....about $1.25. Gas was 19 cents a gallon and I could get a two cent loosy for a quick smoke before going home. Yeah the good old days
