Nick Brounoff:  

After high school I went to El Centro to avoid being drafted. I was already interested in radio and wanted to become a disk jockey. After the lottery system was put in effect I was lucky and had a high number. I dropped out of school and began my broadcasting career in Corsicana in 1971. I also worked weekends at a new station in Dallas, KNUS 99. I worked my way up the ladder to bigger markets including Tyler, Ft. Worth, Fresno California, then finally as a disk jockey on KLIF using my middle name Nick Alexander. I moved from on the air to management and became a program director in Mobile Alabama, then returned to Dallas as production manager for WFAA Newstalk 57 and KZEW. I also was the voice of channel 8 and wrote and produced the daily radio commercial for the Dallas Morning News. Next stop, my dream job: Operation Manager of KVIL. 4 1/2 yrs later my position was eliminated after the station sold and I left radio for advertising and production which I've been doing every since.
