Life
Hello Everyone,
What is new with me? Well lets see.... I'm just about to finish up my BA in Criminal Justice. Once I finish with that I'm moving on to my Master while I start working in the field. My area of expertise is in Missing Persons.
I have a 6 year old boy, who is my angel and my savior. Yes I know that is alot of pressure for child but we have fun with it. My son, Connor and I are training in the Choy Li Fut style of Kung Fu. We adopted a baby Schnauzer, that we have trained as a seizure dog when she was a year old. My son has a rare seizure condition but is very stable right now and he is having a blast with this new life he is experiencing.
Connor and I are working towards our blue sashes at the moment in Kung Fu. Very exciting! I was falling behind a little due to a torn arch in my foot from our last tournament during weapon sparring. So it was off to a walking cast for a few months. Grrrrrrrrr! Somethings never change. Glad to see my son has not taken after me in the "forever broken" categories.
Now that we are both healthly and ready for more punishment, I'm in the process of applying for the Sac Pd as i finish my BA and Connor tackles Kindergarten.
College
What can I say about my first go around in College. I moved to San Luis Obispo, to Cuesta College while i strived to get into Cal Poly. Those first 2 years of college were filled with many partied nights living in a Cal Poly do...Expand for more
rm, Where the fire alarm was pulled atleast every other night. Lazy days surfing, and enjoying the beaches, rough life I know. After two years in paradise, I had to return to reality and come back to Sac. Now my second round of college was much more sucessful. I'm finishing up my BA in Criminal Justice and awaiting the chance to start my Masters in Criminal Psychology. So close to my goals that i can almost taste victory. I'm starting my volunteering at the police departments this fall.
Workplace
I work a 9-5 job just until i finish my BA. I'm currently working for a Start-Up Division for a new Proprietary accelerated college called International Academy of Interior Design and Technology. We are building this school from the ground up. It will be the 1st Interior/Graphic Design school here is Sacramento. Since our school is not open yet, we do alot of traveling. It is so nice to get out and see places I have never seen but hard on my son who misses me about 1 week out of the month. Once I get my BA done then i'll be starting (hopefully) at Sac County Police Department, while I finish up my Masters in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. I need the counseling skills to help family members in a time of need but also to know the right questions to ask family members as well as people of interest. I'm gearing towards a career in Missing Persons which requires a different type of counseling/interrogation skills.
