Nina's Story
Hi from Finland to everyone! I was in LSHS for a year in 1978-79 as an 16-year old exchange student. What a year! Sometimes I think about my year back there, in good and bad! The best time of my year were new friends (especially Lindsay Black and Catherine Bowman) and the few months I was lucky to spend with the Mitchell family (Mildred and Jim) in Independence.
A lot has happened in these past 29 (oops) years. I got married, got three wonderful kids (now 20, 19 and 15 years), got divorced, spent some "wild and single" years, and now settled down with Arto, man-of-my-life. He brought two smaller girls into my life so all in all we are a family of seven! Though the oldest kids are starting...Expand for more
their own lives with their girl/boyfriends.
I have now worked for 14 years in a forest and environmental consulting company as an executive assistant here in Helsinki. It's ok though sometimes the motivation is not too high. To put more action into my life I have started golfing, yoga (bodylogic) and, crazy me, to build a two-storey house with Arto. It is going to be a huge project, hopefully I'll survive, and the relationship, too!
I have not visited Lee's Summit since I left in summer 79 but always thought that one day I'll come back. I have been in contact with the Mitchells in these past years, whom I would love to see again. If you remember me I'd be happy to receive mail from you!
