Nina's Story
What a great place to get an education, back in the 60's..Lee High School. The teachers and classes have served me well. I've earned several degrees in higher education and have worked in counseling/psychology my entire working life.I have worked in rural and inner city schools for over 35 years. I am now a consultant with the court system, and I mediate J&D court cases along with teaching parenting classes. I have traveled all over the world and most recently visited our daughter-in-law's family in the Phillippines. Our son is a teacher in S.Korea and we will probably head there soon.
I am a volunteer with the National Red Cross Disaster Team and have bee...Expand for more
n deployed to places where disasters have struck. This is where I have felt the most useful.I have often silently thanked "Mr.Winston", my Spanish teacher at Lee for drilling us on Spanish verbs. I do wish I would have listened more, but my Spanish has not caused any international issues..yet.
I married my college sweetheart in 1970. He and his brother started a concrete business in Virginia when they were 22, and it has been a blessing for our family ever since.
I still keep up with my friends from Lee and I try to have lunch with them when I'm in Jax. We even go on "Girls trips" every few years..We never seem to age to each other..
I've been blessed.
