Trena's Story
Life
I celebrated a milestone in April of this year - I turned 50. Unbelievable!
It is also unbelievable that it has been 30+ years since I graduated from Sequoyah. I graduated from UGA in 1979 with a degree in Journalism/Public Relations which I promptly put to good use by going to work for Olivetti as a programmer (!), where I met my boss, Jack, and later married. We had our first daughter, Jenny, in 1987, another daughter, Caitlin, in 1990 and our son, Jackson, in 1993. In 2001, Jack was killed in a construction accident. We were married for almost 17 years. You can learn alot about life when you suffer a loss like that and I did. I learned I had great friends, a wonderful church and I learned that, with faith, you can grow back stronger in the broken places.

ars later, I met and married Steve. We just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary in October.
Currently, we live in Forsyth county. Jenny is in her third year at Georgia Southern, studying exercise science. Caitlin is a senior at Lakeview Academy, and Jackson is a freshman at Lakeview. When I am not attending either a football or basketball game for Jackson, or a volleyball game or tennis match for Caitlin, I can be found either at home or at our church where I facilitate a Beth Moore Bible Study.
Despite a few set backs, life has been good. Steve and I love to travel, sometimes with the kids and sometimes just the two of us.
I hope life has been kind to each of you. If you are one of my classmates I imagine you too are staring at the big 50. Amazing, isn't it?
