Noel's Story
Life
After high school it was off to UT-Austin for undergrad then beautiful Seattle for grad school where I lived for ten fabulous years earning a PhD and a couple of post-doc training fellowships. It was there that I met and married my husband Jason Van Loo in graduate school (1996), there that we bought our first house (1997), and there that we had our first son Ian (August 2003). move back to Texas (closer to family) so in summer 2004 we made the move though I continued to work in Seattle from home in northwest Houston. We just had a second son Eric in February 2005 and now I am officially a stay-at-home mom while my husband works as an environmental/intellectual property attorney with Pillsbury Winthrop. I'm a little disconcerted at finding myself a SAHM with a big house in the 'burbs in a red state!
