I am an O&P coordinator and work for an orthopedic company here in town. We do orthotics and prosthetics. We make custom braces for people who have strokes or traumatic brain injuries and need assistance with ambulation or just simple day to day activities like eating or combing there hair. oliosis, spina bifida and those types of conditions that need bracing. Our new thing is custom helmets for babaies that have positional head deformities. It sounds horrible but its really not. It's like them wearing a little football helmet for three months. We also do everday stuff like knee braces for ACL tears and carpal tunnel splints. It is a fun job and very rewarding. It's nice to be able to make a difference in our patients lives.
