Norm's Story
After Graduation I joined the U.S. Air Force, I trained to be a Security Policeman, I was injured while on duty and was a able to retrain into Air Transportation Air Freight. I did go to Vietnam spend my year in country, I was in Vietnam from December 1967 to December 1968 received two wounds: both in my legs. Awarded the Bronze Star. I worked on and eight man mobility team at Dalat City in the central highlands. I married Hazel Messer from Ohio in November 1967. we had two sons both are now deceased, Hazel died June 2023, I am living in Kingsford Mi. I did make the Air Force a career spend twenty years. I retired in 1986, completed collage degree, Worked as a social worker in mental health for thirteen years and spend eight years working as an addiction counselor. In 2012 I retired and studied and was ordained an Episcopal Priest in 2016.

have had a pretty good life with some really sad events. I married a wonder young women and was able to grow old with her. I have been to some interesting places, done some interesting things, After high school I didn't know what I was going to do, I didn't have much future in Algonac; but I did know that the draft was going to get me pretty soon so I enlisted and My life changed The first best decision I made, then I met Hazel, she was my soul mate. She was my second best decision. I have a few regrets, I had two sons to love and be loved by and wonder women to love and be loved by and I was and am happy now. My life was not perfect but it was enough. I got chance to be stationed in Vietnam, Okinawa once for six months, Oklahoma, Michigan, Okinawa for two years, California, and Michigan, had trips to Spain, Guam, Saudi Arabia, Portugal,
