Norma's Story
Life
Married my "soul mate" and truly, the "love of my life", Ronald Pernell, (who graduated from Oakland Tech in 1965), in 1968. We became the proud parents of two beautiful sons, Sean and Branden. I am now the PROUD grandmother of four: Aiyana, 17, and Howard University bound this August; Sean Jr.,15, a Sophomore at Oakland Tech; Kisani, 13, a Freshman at Kaiser High School in Fontana, CA, and Branden II, 12,a 6th grader at Southgate Middle School, Fontana, CA. My two sons and my grandchildren are the Joy of my life. If there is a prouder parent or grandparent in the world, I can't imagine who it is.
My husband passed away very suddenly 10 years ago, after 30 years of marriage. I always felt that he was very lucky that I found him, but I now know that I was the lucky (blessed) one.

veling with my cousins and friends. I take a Ceramics class twice weekly, which has given me a hobby that I love. I also enjoy playing the slot machines at the Cache Creek Casino. I am also a new genealogy buff.
My oldest son, Sean, is still living in Oakland. However, he does have plans to relocate in the near future. I'll miss him dearly, but it will give me another city to visit.
My youngest son, Branden, lives in Southern California, so I try to spend as much time as possible visiting with him and his family.
I stay in contact with a few classmates: Laureen Harper, Tony Parker, Barbara Jacobs, Gordon Baranco & Barbara Gee to name a few. Occasionally run into Jay Kline, when I shop at Safeway.
Am looking forward to our 45th year class reunion in 2010. Hope to see ALL of you there (wherever).
