Norman's Story
I was voted off the island in '71. I attended SWTSU (and it will ALWAYS be SWTSU to me) for 1 year and then worked construction around Austin for 3 yrs. Attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and graduated with a B.S in Zoology in '79. I met my current and only wife Donna (from Port Neches) during my freshman year and we enjoyed a fantastic 4 yrs at SFASU. Donna also graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science. I then attended Oklahoma State University and was sent packing with a M.S. in Aquatic Biology in '84. I have worked in several places since then including 2 different states and 2 universities. I have been a marine fisheries biologist for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department in Port O'Connor since 1990. We live just outside of Port Lavaca on 8 acres of grass, trees, and flowers. ater, OK, and Stephanie who was born in Wichita Falls, TX. The youngest, Stephanie, just graduated last month from Texas State (that's SWTSU for me). The oldest, Jennifer, is living in Woodville, TX.
I am a recovering bass tournament angler:) I also enjoy, among other adventures, camping with Donna, archery, non-competitive angling, music of all sorts but especially classic rock (especially southern guitar rock), Longhorn sports, computers, most outdoor sciences, not being a PEC member, and watching my kids make the same mistakes I did:) Donna enjoys horses, gardening, cross stitch, visiting her family in Brenham and Chireno, camping, reading or swimming while I fish, Kiwanis, and traveling. My parents still live in the house where I grew up in south Austin, and I visit them regularly. If you feel like it, hit me with an email: norman at someoldcanyon dot com.
