Norman & Dee's Story
Life
My Spouse
I actually had known my wife's dad for about five years before we met. I was working full time at a Deli and taking a full load of classes at Chico State in California. He was the co-founder of a theater troop I was involved in and liked to hang out with. We became great friends and I was even housemates with her brother. Eventually, Deirdre (Dee) came to her Dad's wedding from Texas. We all went out the night before the wedding and we really hit it off as friends. She returned at Christmas time six months later and that is when we started to be more than friends. She is a Real Estate Agent.
My Kids
My Son, Nicolas, is 16 and my daughter, Guinevere, is 9. My son loves music (System of a Down, etc...) and drawing. He is almost an Eagle Scout but would hate that I am telling everyone. Gwen is a true red head! She is full of fire. She loves reading, drawing and writing books. She cheers for her Dad's 10 and 11 year olds football t...Expand for more
eam every fall. Dad is actually just an assistant coach (who wants to deal with parents?).
My Job
I am a kindergarten teacher, I teach two half-day classes. Actually, I teach a special class known as Integrated kindergarten where some students are special ed. A few years back I also started being a storyteller. That is about as nerdy as you can get. (I imagine that would have been worth a few insults in the dark room from the tennis team back in high school.) I started telling folktales to classes when I substituted and telling at festival story swaps as well. I even belong to a club and have done three school programs in my district. I have finally found a way to talk people's ears off without putting them to sleep first. Well, I suppose it is mosly small people's ears. Overall, It has actually helped me a better listener.(My first rule is: just because it happened to me does not mean it is interesting-- got that from a bad movie that I liked.)
