Norman L. Durkins has specialized in music for most of his life, beginning at Rafael Hernandez I.S 116 Junior High School in the Bronx New York. There he learned and mastered the baritone, percussion, trombone, and tuba. Norman auditioned and got accepted to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art & Performing Arts. He continued his studies concentrating on the tuba. He was in the Senior Band, Senior Orchestra, and he was the first tuba player to ever be in the Senior Jazz Band. Norman L. Durkins was also a member of the Daily News All-City Jazz Band. After graduating from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, Norman began focusing more on a career in basketball. Greetings to all LaGuardia Alumni. As many you know my name is Norman Durkins AKA Big Norm. It has been great to see so many people from the "Magical Class Of 1990". I have decided to make this page for the Class Of 1990. This will be a great way to reunite with old friends and meet new friends from your class as well. Hopefully in the future we can have a reunion. So if there is anyone that is good at organizing events or have any suggestions please let me know. Take care.
