Olivia's Story
I will share with you a weird job that I loved and had a great time at. I used to be a parts delivery person during the late 70's, then went back to school to get a "real" job. After working and driving around Glendale for a couple of years, I got a job at a legal office as a legal secretary. That worked for another couple of years, till the cases got to be too much. I got remarried and stayed home for a couple of years, then decided I would go back to work. I was reading the Pennysaver and saw this job that spoke to ME. They were looking for someone who knew a little about the automotive business and had secretarial skills. I got that job.

selling shifter parts along with brake, throttle cables, etc. I would go to work barefoot and in shorts and tank tops, I loved that job. Well time came when I needed a real job with benefits and retirement. It was hard to think in those terms, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. So I came to Kaiser Permanente and have been here now about 18 years. I still would do the car shows on father's day in Pomona and the NSRA Nationals, usually in Louisville, KY, but have done them in Syracuse, NY, Columbus, OH, Oklahoma City, OK, and tons of other cities. We would also take time to travel in the neighboring states and cities near the NSRA city that we were showing. We had a blast. This is a short synopsis of my work history.
