I must say I love my job. I am the Asst. Program Director for the NIH/NIGMS Bridges program based at WMU. Basically, we take students who are attending a Community College and pay them to do research in our labs at WMU during the summer. It helps those students interested in the sciences/research to get a better picture of what research is all about. We require them to produce a po...Expand for more
ster for presentation of their research at the end of the summer and strongly encourage all of them to submit abstracts to attend our national meeting. We have had several people realized that this is not the field for them and more that realized where they would like to focus their attentions. Some have gone on to receive publishing credits as well based on the research they were conducting.
