Kathie's Story

After being married and raising kids for 25 yrs, owning a business and losing a business , I said enough is enough. Time for me , started a different career and remarried. Now I can sleep at night and go to bed happy. I found and married my perfect match. My mom asked "Now why couldnt you do that the first time around?" I never do anything right the first time. I have great kids that have turned out well, I am soooo proud of them. They are truly my greatest accomplishment. I am now a computer geek, I work as technical support for phone, tv and computer networks. Basically troubleshoot and teach people how to work these systems. I work with my new husband. We live in Oneida, NY and are renovating a victorian house. Mostly we just hand out a lot of money. Someday we will be able to find the kitchen and other rooms in the house. Right now my favorite room is the attic. I have lived in Boston, MA. , Boulder Co. , and in various areas of Central NY. I must say I am now in a great spot. I love being close to the Adirondacks and the Finger Lakes. Central NY is the greatest place. We can do so much in the summer and winter too. In the summer I now currently live at my cottage on Oneida Lake. I work nights so I have my days on the lake . There is nothing better than morning coffee and a view of the lake. It's so quiet and peaceful here except of course when we get our occasional visitors the grandchildren then it's all hands on deck.. I have three grandkids all boys , they love grandma's camp. I have a son Dustin c...Expand for more
urrently in the army in Afganistan he's military police K-9 . He's over there for a year and away from his beautiful wife and baby boy. We can't wait until he's home safe but are so proud of all he has done, he's always exceptional at anything he does. He will be living in Texas when he returns. My daughter Chantal also was in the service , airforce and married a soldier too. They currently live in Dover with 2 boys. Chantal somehow picked up a talent for baking and cake decorating ( that certainly didnt come from me) she 's also an artist and expert treasure hunter ( yes in the trash or elsewhere) and creates beautiful things from her finds. my oldest grandson just finished kindergarden and he goes to a Chinese emersion school, half day English half day Chinese.( and no he's not Chinese ). Already he learned to read and write basics in both languages and can count to 100 in both too! He tries to teach me but he gives up on me , he told me I'll never speak Chinese. My husband is a great companion he' s so patient and calm always which offsets my personality. . He's always there with a sense of humor and an uncanny sense for when I need a hand to hold . He always has a new adventure that we have to try. He's still running, kayaking , rollerblading , cycling, playing guitar, and always adding to the list. I was never very athletic so just about everything is foreign to me but I try to keep up. I think he keeps me around for the good laughs. He really liked my yellow helmet when we roller bladed. He's my best friend and pretty much my only friend.
