Olujimi's Story
My name was formerly Gordon James. Many years ago I legally changed it to Olujimi Tafataona. I fulfilled my dream to become a professional musician and arranger and composer. I lead the classic Afrikan-centered Jazz band called "In The Tradition". We've performed all over the Detroit area and was seen on television last month. Our latest recording has garnered airplay across the country as well as Canada and Europe. The pay isn't that great, but I love it! I never did get married. I have a 13 year old Son and 18 year old Daughter. I left Detroit 2 years after graduation and returned in 1980. By the grace of the creator I'm still in reasonable health.
