Onesimo Garza:  

Onesimo is from Lyford, Texas. He is married. His schools include Lyford High School. He later attended Lee College and La Salle Extension University. I am "Retired" after 20 years with United Space Alliance(USA) primary contractor with NASA Space Shuttle Program. . I'll give you all a run down of what I did after high school graduation. I enlisted in the US Army starting in Fort Polk in LA and Fort Gordon In Georgia., I then went over seas to Southeast Asia. I was TDY to McDonald Barracks out of Camp Casey in south Korea. I had telecommunication services assignments throughout SE Asia that included Japan, Okinawa, the Philipines and South Vietnam I was an extensive traveler with an elite athletic group. I was a lightweight (130 lbs) boxer and that took me to compete at the locations mentioned herein. As a boxer I was an "open class fighter" a classification above the novice group. In the open class group, I acquired a boxing record with 36 fights winning 34 with 18 KO, and I lost 2 close decisions I won the US Army division 4th, 5th and 7th army lightweight champion title. Breaking my arm in high school; It was a definite hindrance to my boxing career. I would have liked to go pro but as some of my high school classmates/friends remember, I dislocated and broke my left elbow as a 10th grader in high school. That injury later caused me to be practically a one arm fighter. There is nothing worse than to go against tougher competition with a deformed jabbing left arm. I would have like to have painted the Lyford water tower with my name "light weight champion of the world" When I came back to the states I was a Telecommunication Instructor at Fort Gordon Signal Corp School (The same school I graduated from before my other over seas assignments) in Georgia. Aside from that after three (3) years I was discharged and moved to Corpus Christi. I was still a bachelor when I got out of the Army. I went to college in Corpus and later Lee college in Baytown, TX and LaSalle University, Chicago. I started working with GTE as an Installer Repair Technician in the Valley and Baytown area.
