Oscar's Story
Hi Every One, 01/19/2013
It's been a long time and if feels good to touch base with my friends. I apologize for not keeping in touch.
Well changing directions, in High School I was quiet and I wasn't as popular as I wanted to be, but oh well life goes on.
Moved to Florida in the late 80's and in 1993 moved from Miami to Deltona, Florida as a result of a botched right shoulder reconstruction which left me with severe RA that almost crippled me. But thanks to the strong resolve the Lord gave me my life went on. It wasn't easy for me to accept for a very long time. I was very active, into power lifting the next day it was all taken from me.
It took me a very long tome to get over it but God had the plan all along. Though still angry went back to school and received a A.S. in the Paralegal program and a B.A. in the Management program in 1998.
Going back to 1997 I became a Consumer Dispute Advocate and became the Voice where there was no Voice. After several years I realized that my title was wrong because I was involved with everything that I new I could make a Change. It was then with the help of my oldest daughter Yesenia, I became a Legal Community Advocate.
Many Attorney's said I couldn't do that but after 13 years and close to $75,000 recovered for my clients , the proof is in the pudding. Making the difference is wha...Expand for more
t I do Best. It's a gift that keeps on giving.
Finally, I let go of my anger inside because of my physical disability, and boy the Lord opened the heavens and blessed me beyond what I really deserved. I got it, it's not what is on the outside that matters, it's what's inside the Heart that Counts.
I represent disabled people applying for Social Security Disability.. Again I was approached by a friend who had a friend that needed representation because no Attorney would take the case. I called a major Law Firm and they said no. Well 8 months later I went to the Appeal Hearing and I won the case for my client in the tune of $20,000, which he and his family really needed. In November 2012 I won another Disability decision for another client.
Never let any one define your path. I walk with a cane and proud of it. When I speak people listen. You don't let your disability define you, you define your disability. I live one day at a time and give it my best. My moto is Good , Better, Best, never let it Rest, until the good is Better, and the Better is the Best. That's what I am talking about. It's not what people think that matters, it's what God thinks. The Lord doesn't make junk. Though I am divorced I am blessed with two beautiful daughters and a Grand daughter. My first daughter is a bilingual education teacher, and my baby daughter is an OR Nurse. They are my life, my pride, and my joy. It's Great to be a Dad.
See You at the Top.
