My influence by other, more realistic paintings I have done in the past with pieces of reality creeping into them almost unintentionally. It’s become increasingly difficult to paint the further I have moved away from more realistic representational art towards abstract or impressionistic art, and it is often easy for me to lose sight of my original intent. My art comes from deep within a feeling or emotions, so many viewers of my art get my spiritual sense of self. Describing that subliminal phenomenon of my strong sense of spiritual self allows me to produce a painting of trees that breathes and takes on a life of its own from me to viewer. It is my uniqueness of my visual record in creating a permanent piece of my history. The value in that struggle, however, is that I usually end up trying out new ideas in my creation process. gly essential to me, as much as the complete work of art. Allowing realism, abstraction and impressionism to combine makes my art unique and suggests both in my work without getting locked into one or the other. I am an aficionado of art. I never tire of art. I am that constant student always trying to learn more. While I do profess to be an artist, I know I am a neophyte. In some ways, I hope to always be a beginner -- an inexhaustible beginner with the bright eye, the excitement, the passion and the energy to learn and express myself with my own fresh view. I hope I can share this excitement in my art work and people will see it through their bright eye.". More about Patricia MARCH 2010 I am inspired to keep moving into a new direction using my artistic talents. My paintings are taking on a new look in color and dimension. Looking forward to this year. Patricia Melanie Beauchamp creates her first artwork at the early age 9. She begins painting and drawing in high school. Beauchamp got her Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Saint Xavier University (SXU). While at SXU, I was a Bryon-Smith Scholarship recipient at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in papermaking and book arts/letterpress printing. My variety of artistic skills helps develop my painting in both acrylic and oil since she is primarily self-taught; however, she has taken two painting classes and today, is actively seeking instruction from well established artists. Active in some art galleries and associations, Beauchamp is in Valparaiso, Indiana and has had two solo art exhibits at Simply Chicago Art in Evanston Illinois. My commissioned artwork clientele is widely distributed across North America to Peru, South America.".
